you cannot underestimate the importance of staging your property because most buyers have a very good mental image of what they want their future home to look like. So if you're considering selling your property, it is crucial that you do everything you can to make buyers connect with your house and envision their life there. This will not only

I offer a complimentary staging consultation to my clients and I strongly encourage you to take advantage of this service prior to putting your house on the market. Sellers are sometimes reticent to the idea because they think staging will involve making costly or time-consuming changes to their house. This is not so and often a house can be staged in little time and at no or little cost.
Here is what I will do for you during my staging consultation:
- First, I will ask you to try to emotionally detach yourself from "your home" and to think of it as "a house" you're trying to sell. While this may sound like an easy step, this is probably the hardest, but it is very important because it will help you to not take things personally.
- Second, using a staging worksheet I created, I will assess your house from a buyer's perspective. Some of the things I will consider in my evaluation are: curb and backyard/patio appeal; furniture and furniture placement; key features of the house; decor style and color schemes; de-personalizing the space; de-cluttering and organization; and lighting.
- Third, I will prepare a report with recommendations and staging tips tailored to your property. You can implement all of them or as few of them as you feel comfortable with, but keep in mind that every recommendation is designed to help you sell your house.
